Mission Statement and Goals

Goals of the Second Life branch of the Olathe Public Library
To promote the services and resources of the Olathe Public Library.
To explore and experiment with the potential of Second Life for providing services and resources to Olathe Library patrons.
To explore and experiment with the potential of Second Life for providing library services and resources to the larger library community.
To take advantage of the opportunities for learning, and to collaborate, network and share with librarians from all over the world.

Mission of the Olathe Public Library
Effective date: October 25, 1994

The Library actively pursues a role as the primary information center in the community. Accurate and useful information is provided to the citizenry through the use of technology and resource materials. Further emphasis is placed upon young children and their families through materials and services which will encourage reading and lifelong learning. In addition, the Library features current, high-demand materials of popular interest for users of all ages in various formats.
